First we need to understand that Shopify itself is a website hosting platform, that's about it. So unless the company goes under, Shopify still works. What a lot of people do on Shopify is something called Dropshipping (known as Shopify Dropshipping). This is where you do not hold inventory for your products, and you middle-man the transaction using a Shopify store that you build. It can be very profitable. Is dropshipping worth it? That's up to you and how you want to structure your business. There are a lot of pro's and con's to it, but the biggest PRO is the minimal startup cost. Since you don't have to buy, house and distribute inventory, it significantly reduces your shopify startup cost. Theres a lot of dropshipping mistakes that people make, and many things that you have to learn when doing shopify as a beginner. But all of that can be picked up by watching some videos, going through a couple of courses and then trial & error. So yes, Shopify definitely works and is not dead. Dropshipping is a business model that will never go away, but the way in which we do it is definitely changing. In this video, I cover the different ways it's changing so that you can be successful on shopify and have a profitable dropshipping store, if that's what you are choosing to do.
